The History of Polytech Services
Polytech Services, Inc. was founded in January 1969 by Bill Suk, Clay Thomas and George Karis. Polytech’s primary product lines were electrical controls, large synchronous motors, steam turbine drives in addition to other electrical and mechanical components.
The company’s primary markets were electric utility, pulp and paper, industrial and engineering firms in the two Carolinas. Bill Suk retired in 1988, George Karis retired in 1992 and Clay Thomas retired in 1995.
Today the company is owned by Duke Almon, Ken Campbell, Mark Lively and Jeff Morton. Our products include major mechanical and electrical equipment used by the power generation industry, renewables and industrial markets.
Our range of products includes utility scale flow batteries, combustion turbine performance improvement software, cooling tower solutions, electrical switchgear, variable frequency drives, heat exchanger services, engineered valves, packaged chiller systems, thermal energy storage components, chemical free water treatment, and construction services.
From our main office in Charlotte, branch office in Atlanta and satelite offices in St. Petersburg, FL and Richmond, VA we cover the states of Maryland, Virginia, North & South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida.
